Healthcare Organizer, Philadelphia Unemployment Project, Philadelphia (Posted March 9)

The Philadelphia Unemployment Project is hiring a Health Care Organizer to work on federal and state health care reform. The goal is build public support for legislation that will be introduced into the US Congress and state legislature that will lead to a major expansion of access to health care for the uninsured.

The organizer will work in conjunction with Health Care for America Now and the Pennsylvania Health Access Network to organize the uninsured, organizations and individuals in the effort to improve our health care system.

We are looking for individuals who have a background in community, political or union organizing. We are looking for people committed to economic justice and comfortable working with people of all races who want to be part of an historic movement to transform the American health care system. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Good organizational, writing and interpersonal skills are required.
